Fill out the form to send a letter to Allegheny County Council Members to urge them to support the Jewish Community
See letter below
Dear Allegheny County Council Member,
I write as an alumnus of Alpha Epsilon Pi - the International Jewish Fraternity, as well as a resident of Allegheny County. I wish to communicate to you my concern regarding the troubling resolution calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. It is further troubling that the authors of this resolution have kept the text hidden in an attempt to prevent community members from having adequate time to respond before the vote takes place.
I urge you to vote against this resolution in an effort to protect the Jewish community of Allegheny County. Among other issues this resolution:
Creates a slippery slope and sets a dangerous precedent that the council will weigh in on an innumerable number of geopolitical, international, and humanitarian crises for which Allegheny County Council has no direct influence or control.
Is divisive and drives a wedge in our community at a time when we should be coming together to support each other.
Will incite and fuel antisemitism, which is already a skyrocketing problem. The Jewish community has seen time and time again how resolutions like this have resulted in antisemitic rants, conspiracy theories, and hate speech in cities across the country.
Creates a more dangerous and vulnerable environment for the Jewish community, a community that has already suffered so much in the past few years.
We earnestly request that you take this matter seriously in an effort to protect our community and vote NO on this resolution.
